After years being separate entities, at least in the senior category, Everything seems to indicate that Bàsquet Girona and Uni Girona will join their forces and merger to become the same club. A merger planned for a long time that it could not be completed last year due to lack of time with all administrative management.
However, this 2025, everything is ready and It is expected that it will be official next Wednesday, June 18. That same day, at 7:00 p.m., a joint institutional act in Fontajau is expected to be heldwhere the partners of both entities will be informed and all the details will be exhibited.
In this institutional act, both presidents are expected, Marc Gasol by Bàsquet Girona and Cayetano Pérez by UNI. Both already work together in a project to reinforce the basic basketball of the territory and, with this agreement, they will also do it now in the first teams. An operation that both the City Council and the Diputación de Girona see with good eyes.

Seasons with different success
At the moment, both clubs enjoy strong health, representing Girona in the highest category of male and female Spanish basketball, respectively. With different objectives, UNI has set a brilliant regular season.
Spar Girona managed to stay first from the Endesa Women's League and qualify for the Euroleaguealthough he did not get titles.
