It was sabou over the years losing faculties -also speaking -but never wanting to live. And, above all, of making notes. Sabou played three years as a midfielder in the rojiblanco club in the 90s (1993-1996). He scored an iconic goal in the promotion against Lleida which helped save the category in the First Division, in 1995. That party gathered 42,000 people in El Molinón.
He had been fighting the disease for more than a decade. Although he knew he had no cure, he never gave up. Three years ago, in 2022, Sabou received Juan Carlos Unzué at home, also a former player and sick of ELA, to show the world a message of resilience and energy.
