The base of the Oklahoma City Thunder, Nikola Topicwas diagnosed with testicular cancer and will stay off the slopes for an indefinite periodas reported this Thursday by the NBA franchise.
The general manager of the Thunder, Sam Prestiannounced to the media today that Topic had undergone a medical procedure during the preseason and the results showed that he had testicular cancer.
The point guard has already begun treatment to cure the disease, consisting of chemotherapy and does not have a set date to return to competitionaccording to Presti.
The general manager added that Topic continues to train with the team during the process, and assured that he has the full support of the Thunder players and staff.
“They are extremely positive about their attitude towards this situation. It is important to know that testicular cancer is the form of cancer with the highest cure rate among men,” Presti stated.
