{"id":612,"date":"2026-03-18T19:53:25","date_gmt":"2026-03-18T19:53:25","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/osport.com.ng\/?p=612"},"modified":"2026-03-18T19:53:25","modified_gmt":"2026-03-18T19:53:25","slug":"arsenal-transfer-now-very-difficult-after-80m-gunners-star-instructs-agent-to-open-man-utd-talks","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/osport.com.ng\/?p=612","title":{"rendered":"Arsenal transfer now &#8216;very difficult&#8217; after \u00a380m Gunners star instructs agent to &#8216;open&#8217; Man Utd talks"},"content":{"rendered":"<p> <br \/>\n<\/p>\n<div>\n<p>Arsenal could reportedly find it \u201cvery difficult\u201d to sell Martin Odegaard in the summer transfer window amid interest from Man Utd.<\/p>\n<p>The Gunners spent over \u00a3250m in the summer transfer window in order to help Mikel Arteta build a side that can fight on all fronts.<\/p>\n<p>And that\u2019s exactly what <strong>Arsenal<\/strong> are doing with the Gunners currently nine points clear at the top of the Premier League, although second-placed Man City have a game in hand and play Arteta\u2019s outfit at the Etihad Stadium next month.<\/p>\n<p>Arsenal are also into the quarter-finals of the Champions League, face Man City in the final of the League Cup on Sunday and are into the FA Cup quarter-finals.<\/p>\n<p>The Gunnners could win an unprecedented Quadruple this season but <strong>the <em>Daily Telegraph<\/em> recently reported that<\/strong> they will have to make one big sale in the summer after their big summer spend last year.<\/p>\n<p>Odegaard is understood to be one of the players up for sale, as well as Gabriel Martinelli, but former Man City financial adviser Stefan Borson can\u2019t see them getting \u201ca substantial profit\u201d for the Norway international.<\/p>\n<p><strong>READ: Arsenal advance thanks to \u2018naive\u2019 and \u2018careless\u2019 moments as the Quadruple isn\u2019t for everyone<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Borson told <em>Football Insider<\/em>: \u201cThe players that are on that list, they\u2019re going to find it very difficult to sell them for a substantial profit.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNot because they\u2019re not good players, just because the number of buyers for these sorts of players, the Odegaards, that you\u2019re going to want let\u2019s say \u00a380m for.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Borson added: \u201cWho\u2019s going to buy them?<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHow many teams in the world these days have that money? Nobody in Italy, zero. Bayern Munich can only buy one or two players a year. But if they\u2019re not interested, that\u2019s the whole of Germany gone.<\/p>\n<p><smartframe-embed customer-id=\"1ffbae35d432d0d71911ca2a0b209fbb\" image-id=\"prsiEAwjYpgi\" style=\"width: 100%; display: inline-flex; max-width: 100%;\"\/><\/p>\n<p>\u201cPSG have moved what they try and do now away from that sort of player, so they\u2019re probably out. Then you\u2019ve got Real Madrid, and I very much doubt they\u2019re going to buy Odegaard back.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBarcelona have got no money, so there\u2019s your universe of potential buyers because he\u2019s not going to go to another Premier League team in my view. It\u2019s all very well saying, \u2018Well, we\u2019re going to sell these players for big money\u2019. The Norwegian captain feels deeply unappreciated at Arsenal by both the board and coaching staff.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018Sources say promises made to him have been broken, with high tension reported between \u00d8degaard and Mikel Arteta in recent weeks. He is now 100% willing to leave the club.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018Bayern Munich remains strongly committed to signing the playmaker, but \u00d8degaard\u2019s priority is to stay in the Premier League.
