Pio Esposito\u2019s agent has poured cold water on rumours linking the striker with Arsenal, insisting his client is \u2018happy\u2019 and wishes to remain at Inter Milan \u2018for the next ten years\u2019.<\/p>\n

The 20-year-old has enjoyed an eye-catching breakthrough season with Inter having returned to his boyhood team from a two-year loan spell with Spezia in Serie B.<\/p>\n

Spezia came close to sealing promotion back to Serie A thanks largely to Esposito\u2019s goalscoring exploits \u2013 and the youngster has picked up where he left off in the Italian top flight this term.<\/p>\n

With star man Lautaro Martinez out injured for the last month, Esposito has stepped up admirably as the focal point of Inter\u2019s attack, taking his tally to eight goals and six assists in all competitions for the\u00a0Nerazzurri.<\/p>\n

But it is more the character and passion showcased by one of their own which have most endeared Esposito to the San Siro faithful across the campaign.<\/p>\n

There has, though, been some speculation linking Esposito with a big-money move away from Milan, with Premier League leaders Arsenal said to be among his ever-growing list of admirers. <\/p>\n

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Esposito both \u2018frightened\u2019 and \u2018fascinated\u2019 Mikel Arteta during Arsenal\u2019s Champions League group-stage tie with\u00a0Inter\u00a0and the centre-forward has \u2018remained in the eyes and thoughts\u2019 of the Gunners ever since.<\/p>\n

The report claimed Arsenal sporting director Andrea Berta had made contact with Inter immediately after Esposito\u2019s outstanding cameo display to learn more information about a possible deal for the Italy international.<\/p>\n

But when quizzed on these rumours on Radio CRC this week, Esposito\u2019s representative, Mario Giuffredi, was quick to dismiss any talk of a proposed switch to north London.<\/p>\n

\u2018Despite Arsenal\u2019s interest, our plans are clear,\u2019 Giuffredi explained.<\/p>\n

\u2018He\u2019s happy at Inter and will be the future of the Nerazzurri for the next ten years. The boy is in love with Inter.\u2019<\/p>\n

Though still in the infancy of his club and international career, Esposito has been likened by some to one of the greatest Italian strikers of modern times in Christian Vieri.<\/p>\n

\u2018I don\u2019t like comparisons, especially when the players are young,\u2019 Giuffredi said in response to these claims.<\/p>\n

\u2018Pio Esposito needs to be himself and develop his own personal style of play. <\/p>\n

\u2018When comparisons are made, it creates expectations that are not helpful.\u2019 <\/p>\n

Earlier this month, Inter president Beppe Marotta issued a similar message regarding Esposito\u2019s future, ruling out a summer sale for the burly 6\u00a0ft 3\u00a0in forward.<\/p>\n

\u2018Inter do not want to sell him and we are not a club that makes player trading its main business,\u2019 Marotta told the Italian media.<\/p>\n

\u2018He\u2019s a product that grew up in the youth academy, and we\u2019re guarding him like a treasure.\u2019<\/p>\n

Marotta appeared to shut the door on Esposito leaving Inter to join Arsenal this summer \u2013 but left the possibility open \u2018in the very distant future\u2019 for potential suitors.<\/p>\n

\u2018We\u2019ll talk about his transfer again in the future, but it\u2019ll be a very distant future,\u2019 he added.<\/p>\n

Inter secured Esposito on a modest salary of around \u20ac1million-a-season (\u00a3800,000-a-season) until 2030 prior to last year\u2019s\u00a0Club World Cup.<\/p>\n

While Esposito\u2019s commitment to Inter appears unwavering, his contract may need to be negotiated should the likes of Arsenal continue to sniff around the youngster.<\/p>\n

\n

\u2018It\u2019s the merit of a boy who wants to prove himself,\u2019 Inter Milan head coach Chivu said of Esposito\u2019s meteoric rise last month.<\/p>\n

\u2018He wants to put himself on the line and take responsibility like everyone else: if things don\u2019t go well, it\u2019s my fault.<\/p>\n

\u2018But I like that they follow me and want to make this season what we all hope it can be.\u2019<\/p>\n

As the former manager of the Inter Milan Primavera academy side, Chivu remarked that he had \u2018practically grown up\u2019 alongside Pio Esposito.<\/p>\n

\u2018He was a small kid, tall. He barely reached my chest. We\u2019ve practically grown up together,\u2019 he explained.<\/p>\n

\u2018I know his family, I know his background, his journey through the youth system. He was an underage captain in my\u00a0Inter\u00a0Primavera team.<\/p>\n

\u2018I\u2019m happy for him, just as I am for the rest of the team.\u2019<\/p>\n
