Manager sackings at this point in the season are rare – but certainly not without precedent.

For example, in the 2022/23 campaign, we saw four sackings in the final three months of the season – could we see something similar in the current Premier League year?

Today, we’ve put together a list of managers who could be next on the chopping block. All odds for this list have been taken from BetVictor (via Oddschecker).

Pep Guardiola

<smartframe-embed customer-id="0fab81ce12e48a0794275e1d82449fb1" image-id="1074121446" style="width: 100%; display: inline-flex; max-width: 100%;"/>

This may suprise you, but Pep Guardiola is the fifth-most likely manager to receive his marching orders in the Premier League at the moment – at least, according to the bookmakers’ odds.

In truth, this has been a disappointing campaign for Manchester City and the previous season wasn’t much better. It could be time for them to close the door on Guardiola’s immensely successful period at the Etihad Stadium, though a domestic trophy (or two) would probably ensure his safety.

Guardiola’s success at Manchester City cannot be overstated – he has transformed them into one of the driving forces in world football. However, contemporary results have been poor – and there is no time for sentimentality in the modern game.

Liam Rosenior

<smartframe-embed customer-id="0fab81ce12e48a0794275e1d82449fb1" image-id="1074446094" style="width: 100%; display: inline-flex; max-width: 100%;"/>

Following a bright start to life at Chelsea, the Blues have hit a bit of a slump under the stewardship of Liam Rosenior.

Chelsea have won just two of their last six Premier League games – on top of this, they were unceremoniously dumped out of the Champions League by PSG, losing by a wide scoreline of 8-2 on aggregate.

The Blues have never been a lenient club in this regard. If Rosenior continues to underperform, he will be sacked – and he knows it. As things stand, Rosenior is 5/1 to be the next Premier League manager to be removed from his post.

Arne Slot

<smartframe-embed customer-id="0fab81ce12e48a0794275e1d82449fb1" image-id="1073630144" style="width: 100%; display: inline-flex; max-width: 100%;"/>

Plenty of things have gone wrong for Liverpool this season, but Arne Slot hasn’t helped matters with his eclectic team selections and uninspiring tactical approach.

In 2024/25, pundits could not praise Slot enough – now, they have largely turned their backs on him. It’s easy to see why – Liverpool have noticeably declined since last season, despite having spent well over £400 million in the summer transfer window.

Many Liverpool fans have begun to call for Slot’s head. He will probably see out the rest of the campaign, but he will be in real trouble if results do not improve by the start of next season.

Scott Parker

<smartframe-embed customer-id="0fab81ce12e48a0794275e1d82449fb1" image-id="1074220792" style="width: 100%; display: inline-flex; max-width: 100%;"/>

Burnley have looked like a doomed outfit almost from the get-go. They picked up some positive results at the beginning of the season, but soon found themselves mired in the relegation zone, which is where they have been ever since.

Parker’s defence-first strategy has not worked out in the Premier League like it did in the Championship last season. If anything, it has had the adverse effect – Burnley have the worst defensive record in the Premier League this season.

Like Slot, Parker is 3/1 to be the next Premier League manager on the chopping block. Despite this, we think it makes more sense to keep him – with relegation abound, Parker could always guide them to promotion at the first time of asking.

Oliver Glasner

<smartframe-embed customer-id="0fab81ce12e48a0794275e1d82449fb1" image-id="1073333175" style="width: 100%; display: inline-flex; max-width: 100%;"/>

Glasner is unlikely to be sacked at this stage of the season – however, he has stated that he will leave Crystal Palace at the end of the campaign.

As such, Glasner is the de facto ‘no manager to leave their post’ option. Palace’s results have picked up recently – after a massive dip in form, the Eagles have now lost just two of their last six Premier League games.

It’s unclear where Glasner will end up. Some believe he is destined for the Tottenham Hotspur or Manchester United post – only time will tell.

We’re now moving into the latter stages of the 2025/26 Premier League season.
