Newcastle United star Sandro Tonali is \u2018quite open\u2019 to a sensational move to Manchester United this summer.<\/p>\n

The future of the Italy international on Tyneside has been in doubt since January when he was offered to Arsenal after the Gunners lost Mikel Merino to injury.<\/p>\n

While Tonali is admired at the Emirates, no serious talks took place but speculation over his long-term future has lingered ever since.<\/p>\n

Manchester City have been credited with interest in the former AC Milan star while the i Paper reports Chelsea are monitoring the situation. United have also added him to their list of midfield targets.<\/p>\n

United will say goodbye to Casemiro at the end of the season and could be in the market for two new midfielders given their lack of first-team options in an area of the pitch that has been long neglected.<\/p>\n

Casemiro\u2019s departure will leave United woefully short \u2013 aside from Kobbie Mainoo, long-term options are in short supply with Manuel Ugarte another who could move on. <\/p>\n

Elliot Anderson, Adam Wharton and Carlos Baleba have been on United\u2019s radar all season but Tonali has emerged as another option under consideration.<\/p>\n

Any move would cost United in excess of \u00a3100million but according to transfer journalist Christopher Michel, the 25-year-old would be interested in making the move to Manchester.<\/p>\n

Newcastle will be desperate to hold onto Tonali but former AC Milan and Italy star Massimo Ambrosini believes his countryman is ready for the next step in his career, believing United would be a sensible choice.<\/p>\n

\u2018Moving from Italy to England is not easy, you have to change your whole mentality,\u2019 Ambrosini told BOYLE Sports.<\/p>\n
