Arsenal progressed into the next round of the Champions League on Wednesday night with a 2-0 win over Bayer Leverkusen \u2013 thanks to goals from Declan Rice and Eberechi Eze. Manchester City, instead, crashed out of the competition.<\/p>\n
It was a contrast in nights for the two English teams that will face one another on Sunday in the Carabao Cup final.<\/p>\n
Beaten 2-1 at home by Real Madrid (a 5-1 on aggregate), City now have the chance to win their first trophy of the season against the Gunners at Wembley.<\/p>\n
They carry that<\/em> trophy-winning gene \u2013 but it would be remiss to suggest they are favourites heading into the showdown at the weekend. Before that point, however, it was dark.
