And while he insists he’s happy at the club, his latest comments may come as music to the ears of Inter Milan.

London life & schedule pressure

The 23-year-old admitted to Gazzetta dello Sport that the Premier League schedule leave little time to enjoy life in the capital.

“Good, even if you play every three days and you can’t enjoy it,” he said when asked what it’s like living in London.

“The city offers so much. But when it comes to England, it’s a different story: London is London, but the rest…”

Homesickness & Italy connection

Pressed on whether homesickness has crept in, Calafiori didn’t hide the emotional pull of his homeland.

“I miss the sun and would like to see friends and family more often, but I’m not complaining. In Italy, we’re used to observing, judging, and criticizing. I like that it’s not like that here.”

Inter Milan interest

Those words arrive just 24 hours after reports in Italy suggested Inter Milan are exploring a move to bring him back to Serie A.

That report, from L’Interista, explained that Piero Ausilio, Inter’s sporting director, and his deputy Dario Baccin, have flown to London on a mission to watch Calafiori and other targets. They see him as a replacement for Alessandro Bastoni.

And while Calafiori didn’t directly address the rumour, his reflections on Italy, and the warmth he left behind, will only add fuel to the speculation.

Arsenal commitment & praise

Yet, when it comes to Arsenal, his commitment is unmistakable. He’s more than loving life at the Emirates.

“I’ve always dreamed of playing in England. After the European Championship my price tag increased, and my agent explained that Arsenal really wanted me,” he concluded.

“I knew I’d be playing in the toughest league. But I told myself I could always take a step back. And let’s be clear: Arsenal is Arsenal, an iconic team, unlike any other.”

For now, Calafiori sounds fully invested in the Arsenal project. He’s energised by the Premier League, challenged by the intensity, and proud to wear the shirt of a club he calls “iconic.”

But even in his most positive reflections, the pull of home lingers. Missing the sun, missing family, missing the rhythm of Italy those aren’t small things for a 23-year-old still settling into a new country.

And with Inter Milan circling, those emotions matter. Calafiori isn’t pushing for a move yet, but his honesty hints at a truth the Italian giants will quietly like.

Arsenal defender Riccardo Calafiori has spoken openly about life in London.
