Arsenal are in pole position to secure the Premier League title this season with former Manchester City forward Gabriel Jesus potentially set to add to his medal collection<\/h2>\n <\/p>\n\n

Gabriel Jesus has revealed that he was laughed at by some of his Arsenal teammates for his ambitions of lifting the Premier League title. The Brazilian joined the North London side from Manchester City in 2022 in a \u00a345m deal.<\/p>\n
Having helped City to four Premier League titles during his time at Old Trafford, Jesus immediately underlined his desire to claim another winners\u2019 medal.<\/p>\n
But it appears that not everyone was on the same page, with Jesus having revealed that some of his former teammates thought he was joking.<\/p>\n
\u201cA few of them laughed,\u201d Jesus said in an interview with The Athletic. \u201cThey said: \u2018Ah, maybe you signed for the wrong club\u2019. I asked them why. With the quality in our team, why couldn\u2019t we go and win the league?\u201d<\/p>\n

In each of his three seasons, the Gunners have finished as runners-up.<\/p>\n
But they appear set to finally end their long wait for the title, with Mikel Arteta\u2019s side having put together a nine-point lead over Jesus\u2019 former club Man City at the top of the table with seven games to be played.<\/p>\n
“It\u2019s a process that you have to respect,” Jesus added. “We\u2019ve gone from fighting hard to qualify for the Champions League to fighting for the title.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe need to be happy about that. Our team is now more experienced, more mature. We can win the league this season and maybe another trophy as well. The Arsenal fans were probably going to say the Premier League because it\u2019s been more than 20 years.<\/p>\n

\u201cBut they also never won the Champions League, so obviously for them it\u2019s a dream to win both. Me, I want to win everything, but if I have to choose, it\u2019s the Champions League.”<\/p>\n
Jesus has sent a strong message to his teammates ahead of the run-in and claimed that the Gunners should relish the fact they find themselves in such a position. He said: “When you have (success), you can be scared of losing it.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe still don\u2019t have it, so we cannot be scared. We cannot lose something we don\u2019t have. We need to go out there, game by game, and try to win.”<\/p>\n
Arsenal\u2019s Premier League title push will be paused this weekend but they could still claim silverware. Arteta\u2019s side take on Pep Guardiola\u2019s Manchester City at Wembley in the Carabao Cup final.<\/p>\n
