Arsenal goalkeeper David Raya has broken his silence on social media after the birth of his son before Sunday’s Carabao Cup final. The Spaniard has become a key player for Mikel Arteta’s side since arriving in north London from Brentford in August 2023.<\/p>\n
Raya initially signed on a season-long loan before joining on a permanent deal for \u00a327 million a year later. The 30-year-old has kept a Premier League-leading 15 clean sheets so far this term as the Gunners chase a first league title since 2004.<\/p>\n
Arsenal are also looking to win their first major trophy since 2020 on Sunday afternoon as they face title rivals Manchester City in the Carabao Cup final.<\/p>\n
It is unclear whether Raya will start this weekend’s game at Wembley Stadium, with Kepa Arrizabalaga playing every fixture in the competition so far this season.<\/p>\n
But Raya has received some uplifting news before the match with the birth of his son, Rio, with his wife Tatiana Trouboul. The model announced the news on her Instagram account – posting a picture of her husband carrying the baby.<\/p>\n

“Happy first Father’s Day, my life. Baby Rio is here already.”<\/p>\n

<\/g><\/clippath><\/defs><\/svg>Content cannot be displayed without consent<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\nAnd Raya responded with a comment on the post. He said: “We are so lucky to have a mom like you with us.<\/p>\n
“You have made my life spectacular and Rio couldn’t ask for a better mom than you! I love them.”<\/p>\n
Raya’s understudy, Arrizabalaga, has sent a warning to City ahead of Sunday’s game as his team looks to end their trophy drought.<\/p>\n
He said: \u201cWe have big players who have played in big games, in finals, in the Euros, in the World Cup, in the Champions League. We know what it is to play in big games every three days.<\/p>\n
\u201cManchester City have great players in every position, they are one of the strongest teams without a doubt. They have a lot of different options and depth of quality.<\/p>\n
